When I self published a book of poetry 64 pages never was the idea to
make money or make a name for myself, I already have a name never interested in the word fame,actually it was about the last thing on my bucket list.
When I self published this book in 2009 the price for everything was around 2200 dollars for 500 books for another 100 dollars I could have got 500 more, the more books you get the cheaper the price.
By getting your book self published you control everything, you get the books you can set any price. All the money is yours, you determine how you gonna market them. Watch out for family, friends and strangers will buy without questions about the price if it is reasonable. lot of family members want you to give them the book or worse take the book never pay you.
I fwwl that every Poet should publish a book within their life time.
For me leaving a book of your works behind is the legacy you left for generations of family to read reflections of your thoughts your emotion they begin to form a picture of who you were. In a lot of cases the readers may have those same thoughts those same situations even if the book was written a 100 years ago, for the reader it will seem like real time
