It seems that there are many websites that are promising poetry contests where you could win thousands of dollars. The competition is fierce and in the end, there is only one person on top. At Poetry Vibe, we decided to change that up a little bit and offer smaller prizes but cater to a smaller community. So we have to be perfectly honest, you are not going to get rich here but you are going to win great prizes and get some rep.

We publish the winners trophy with each poem that you enter. We have to let you know that there are some ground rules. Normally there is a theme with these contests and we like to stick closely to the theme. If you enter a poem that is not the boundaries of the theme, your poem is out. But if you play within the rules, you are in. We are looking for creativity around that theme. As an example, we could say the theme is "love." You can write anything that you feel about love. Your entry will be judged based on the content, the creativity, and the emotions expressed in your poetry.
We want you to bring your "A" game to the poetry event. If it looks like you started strong and then ended weak, your out. If you were running out of words to say or the emotion was just not there, you are out.
We ask a lot of our poets but we make sure that they are judged based on the only thing that really matters, the poetry should be a reflection of themselves and we are trying to discover the true poet.
