The Future of Urban Poems

What is the future of urban poem? Then the question becomes what is the future of urban life. We are faced with challenges every day as the requirements for education goes up, we dive deep into our culture. We create leaders as easily as we destroy them. The examples are 2Pac and Biggie Smalls. Behind these tragedies are countless tragedies that happen in the hood every day. Some of them you know about and some of them you will hear about. Our world is filled with them. We know what to expect. We expect the unexpected. We discuss life and death just as easily as we discuss family, friends, and foes. We live for the unknown, the thrill of urban life is just that. It’s a thrill.

Then there are the true soldiers that make magic of our lifes experiences. They immortalize them in words and rhyme and then they present for the world to see. We are on display and life is our canvas. Our pictures are painted with blood, tears, and even hope of a better life, of something different. Its something that we cant touch and if we could, we would not want to.

This is our world. Its urban. Its exotic and its there for the true artists to bring our message to the world. Its time for you to bring that message. No matter how small you think the words are and no matter how much you think is the same in the world, its not. You are different and your life experiences are different and sometimes that small degree of your life will change how one person sees the world. At Poetry Vibe, we have so many poets with so many real experiences that bring rich flavor to the world. We are bringing this to the urban world but to the world at large. The world is not enough. We want the hearts and minds of the world. We want them to feel something, something from our world that will truly help them understand us. I need your help.
