The next day i woke up for school, had on black skinny jeans
a black long long sleeve v-neck shirt, black hi rise timberlands. had my
necklace watch locket bracelets and black diamond studs. had my hair brushed
into a ponytail. had put on my hoodie jacket and came downstairs went in the
kitchen got myself something to eat, mom and mami came into the kitchen. they
both said "morning kourt." I didnt say anything, just got up and
walked to the door when i heard a car horn. it was stone giving me a ride to
school as i was finna open the door, i stopped when mom said "hey." I
turned my head to the side, she cont "im picking you up from school,
around 1pm." I made a face, she cont "doctors appt." I sigh as i
left on out the house. Couple hours later during lunch i was sitting at the
table drawing in my sketch pad. couple seconds later Ms.A came and sat down
across from me, she said "hey you." i nod my head, she cont
"miss you this morning..you alright?" I shook my head, she said
"ay look at me." i raised my head up she scared into my eyes, she
could tell something was wrong than she said "promise me you come see me
tomrw." I nod my head she held up her pinkie as she said "pinky
promise?" I laugh as i locked my pinky to hers. then stone and them came
and sat down, while i was sketching, Stone saw mami come inside, she was
talking to Ms.A. he lean towards me and said "your mom's here." i
looked up and grasp when i saw mami and not kate. I grab my pad and my bookbag
as i got up and walked down the hall. she looked at me and said "hey
ready?" I nod as i walked out the door, we got in her truck as we was on
our way to the doctor's office I was scaring out the window she looked at me a
few times. After the doctors we was driving back to the house, she ask
"how's school?" I didnt answer, she cont "heard you a straigh A
student." still didnt talked we pulled up in tha driveway, got out the
truck she sigh "you gotta talk to me sometime Kourt." I looked at her
as i said "no i dont." we ended agruing back and forth than i said
"i dont care anymore you left me, i needed you and you was nowhere to be
found." i was trying so hard not to cry, she said "kourt im sorry ok
im sorry i shouldnt have left like that i shouldve told yall but i couldnt i
had to go under right away." I shook my head as i said "i dont care
anymore mom im done." i turned around and began walking towards the house,
then i stopped when she shout "if you dont care than why are you still
wearing the necklace i gave you?" I touched my locket, turned my head to
the side. she saw tears coming down my face than i went in the house and
straight upstairs to my room. laid in my bed rest of the evening didnt even
come out for dinner, just laid up in my bed sketching in my pad. The next day i
got dress and ready for school, got there went to go see Ms.A. talk for a
little bit with her than i went to Jen's room, my girl was there talking i sat
on the floor leaning up against Simone she began combing my hair, i exhale
deeply as she comb my hair, had rested my eyes as i tilt my head back. Around
lunch i had to leave to go to beachwood, i was in my car finna pull out the
parking lot when i saw Brandon and marsules. they scared at me i smirk as i nod
my head, they laughed as they got in the car. had blast my music was also
smoking a mild it was lace with weed. had passed it after i took two puffs.
while i was driving, i was doing my drifting, Brandon said "yo there go
petrie's behind us." I had the top down, i saw her from my rear view
mirror and scoff "*** dat ." Had came to this stop light, she
pulled up along side of me. we didnt pay her no mind was busy smoking and
listening to the music. Then we looked behind us when we heard a car blow its
horn, i smirk as i quickly got out the car after i had grab a package out the
glove department walked up to the car it was Patrice she smirk as she gave me a
roll of money. i walked back to the car, got in. the light turned green and i
sped away got to the school parking lot had pulled up along side of Kasey’s
car, she was leaning on the side of her car while Robby was sitting on the
trunk. got out the car had gave her a hug, we went inside the school hang out
in the cafe for awhile then went in the classroom. two hours later just as we
was finna to leave, ms.petrie blocked my path, i looked at her with a cold
scare. she ask "where were you yesterday?" I said
"doctor's." I tried to walk out the room she stopped me by putting
her hand on me. that when i was finna lose my temper, brandon and them eye's
widen when they saw she touch me. I looked at where she was touching me and at
her, had the meanest scariest look on my face. it was saying (if you dont get
her hand off of me im going to bash your head up against this wall). I just
jerk myself back, I mumble to myself. Brandon came and stood behind me as he

ask "what did you say?" I looked at her and said "dont ever touch
me." she had made a look i said "like i said i was at the doctor's,
if didnt believe me maybe this will." I pulled up the side of my shirt she
grasp when she saw the gunshot wound. i put my shirt down and walked out the
room. robbie and them walked out the room shaking their head at her. I got in
my car and rode on out to the gas station while i was there i gotten a call
from my older cousin, i said "sup jess." she said "hey, i need a
big favor." I said "whats up." she ask "think you can be
able to pick up stoney from school today, i got called into the hospital?"
I thought about it and sigh "sure, i pick him up." she said
"thanks tru, i own you one." I said "yea you do, anyway i'll
talk to you later." we hung up, head on back to the school for a little while
had made sure all my homework was done for the day, so i aint gotta worried
about it over the weekend. had went to Simone's locker and waited for her to

parking lot got in my car, i told her i have to go over to the middle school to
pick up my little cousin. she said "alright." rode on out down the
street to the middle school had pulled up in the parking lot parked the car and
got out the bell had rung, had came inside was looking for stormy. Then i heard
his voice, saw that he was in the cafe talking to his friends. Walked up to the
cafe door, had also heard someone called my name. i turned my head and saw that
it was mom. I looked at her and turned my head had shout "yo stormy!"
he turned around and smirk when he saw me. he grab his bag and came on over to
me. we did our lil handshake, he said "what you doing here cuz." i
ans "yo mom got called into work so she ask me to com get you." we
walked down tha hall, saw mel standing by the door. i couldnt even look at her
either. went outside and got in the car had rolled on out dropped Stormy off at
his house than i hung out with simone than dropped her off at home. After that
i went to my secert condo, wanted to be away from everyone. had took a long hot
shower got out sprayed and oil my body down, put on my briefs, boxers, bball
shorts, sports bra and a wife beater had oil and brushed my hair into ponytail

through the peephole saw that it was Mel. i sigh as i stood there, she said
"i know you in there open up kourt." I exhale as i open the door and
walked away as i ask "what do you want?" she closed the door, as she
said "we need to talk." I said "there's nothing to talk
about." she said "yes there is, tru im sorry okay...im sorry for not
telling you where your mother was...she told us not to say anything cause she
didnt want to put you guys in danger." I said "i dont care, she shouldnt
never left us, she didnt care about us." Mel said “hey, she does care
about you and miguel..alot yes it was wrong for her to leave like that but she
never stopped caring or loving you and miguel we always sent her pictures of
you and miguel your mother was always worring about you guys she was never too
far away from you guys." I shook my head as i tried not to cry, she cont
"that day when you got shot and you was in a coma, she came back home and
stayed by your side for a whole week, now dont you ever say she didnt care about
you cause she did everyday she was away." I began crying, said "i
wish you told me mel we tell each other everything." she stood in front of
me and said "i know, i know im so sorry mi amor." she pulled me into
her arms, wrapped her arms around my neck as i wrapped my arms around her
wraist as i cried. we ended up laying on the couch together. Came home late
that night, came inside tha house. my head was starting to hurt again, went
upstairs to my room changed into my pj pants. had my door cracked opened, mom
came outta her room stood quietly as she watched me. saw i was holding the back
of my head as i stood by my window. i began crying as i slid to the floor. held
my legs to my chest, as i held my head down. mom came in the room kneel down
and help me up off the floor as she said "come on lets get you in
bed." she pulled the covers off and i got in the bed she laid behind me
her arms wrapped around me run her fingers through my hair as she softly sing
the pain away. I closed my eyes, the pain was slowly going away. after awhile
she laid awake scaring out the window looking at the moon as i fell asleep.
Early the next morning i got up changed into my bball shorts, hoodie and
running shoes had grab my iphone and earbugs, went on outside stretch and ran 20
miles. was still in training for the army. mom woke up saw that i wasnt in the
bed, she looked around as she got up walked past art's room saw him scaring out
of his window. she ask "ay whats wrong?" he ans "nuthing just
watching tru." she came in saw me running up in the driveway, had stopped
and catched my breath. sat down on the steps scared off to space for awhile was
thinking. Couple minutes later i came in the house took a shower got out oil
and sprayed my body down, put on my briefs, a fresh pair of white skinny jeans,

my eyes i scared into his, he nod his head i nod back. we sat in quiet as we
ate breakfast. Late that night around 11pm, i was roaming around the city with
my homies. had on black jeans, a black long sleeve shirt, a black hoodie and
black sneakers i had my hood up and my hands in my pocket walking with the
crew. When we saw and heard a loud commotion going on down across the street.

was mami. next thing i know she fell to the ground after tha guy hit her. we
rushed on over to her, i pulled out my gun and got up behind him as i said
"hey" he turned around and i hit hard in the face he fell down i said
"dont you ever put your hands on a woman...especially my mother." he
grasp when he saw the kd sigma on the side of my gun. he took off running. then
i kneel down to mami as i put my gun in my jeans, looked at her as i help her
up off the ground. one of my homies ask "she alright?" I said "i
dont know, im take her to the spot...i'll see yall later." they said
"alright, later." we got to my car, and drove on over to my secret
condo. got there few minutes later, pulled up in the garage, i help her inside.
walked into the living room sat her down on the couch, and went to get the
first aid kit. had took my hoodie off as i walked back to the living room, had
stood down on the coffee table in front of her she wince a bit when i began
cleaning her cut on the side of her face. then i helped her take her jacket
off, laid her down on the couch. she grab a hold of my hand as i was finna to
walk away, i look at her she said "thank you." I smile a bit as i
lean towards her and place a kiss on her forehead. placed a blanket over her,
and left on out the living room. she fell asleep, an hour and half later she
woke up got off the couch and began looking for me, she heard soft music
playing in tha other room, she got up and followed the music. stood in the
doorway saw me sitting down on the floor by the couch drawing in my sketch pad.
the fireplace was lit, she heard me crying a bit. next thing you know i ripped
the page out and threw it in the fire as i got up off the floor. stood there
and watched it burn, i walked on over to the window and cont crying than mami
came in the room i turn my head to the side saw her and quickly wiped my eyes
she ask "ay whats wrong?" i lie "nothing im fine." she came
and stood beside of me, as she place her hand on my shoulder she said
"talk to me." I sigh "i miss us ma...i miss everything we used
to do together playing basketball at night, cuddling in bed waking up in the
middle of the night for a snack...." i began crying again as i cont
"i miss you mami...i need you." she pulled me in her arms and held me
tight as she cried "im so sorry mi armor i miss you too so much i never
stopped thinking about you." i held her in my arms as i closed my eyes, i missed
being in her arms. after awhile we laid on the couch talking softly til we fell
asleep. Early the next morning we woke up had drove her to her place she had to
go to work. then i drove on home, parked in the driveway came inside went
upstairs saw mom was still asleep, i came in the room stood by the bed quietly
took my shoes off and got in the bed laid up behind her. she open her eyes and
smile a bit, had rolled over scared into my eyes. she place her hand on my
cheek as she smiled, i smiled back as i place my hand on hers and kissed her
hand. than she pulled me closer to her as she turned around i wrapped my arms
around her and held her tight. we fell asleep.
