Five months later
Me and my platoon was on our way back to base, was talking
to raul when we was came across this kid playing with a soccer ball than next
thing you know a bomb went off we had crushed into a big rock, had quickly got
out the truck there was shots fired all over, me and some of my follow soldiers
were shooting trying to take cover. After a long while the gunshots died down,
we got them but had lost some soliders. Than all over the sudden i felt real
weak, had felt something wet on my left side. Looked down saw that i was shot,
Raul turned saw me and ran to me as i fell. He began applying pressure to it as
he called for help. Back at home mom(Kate) was in her office when one of the
sect called her out to the other office. she got up and came outside she saw
some of the staffs scaring up at the tv. she grasp when she read the headlines
"American platoon ambushed." Mr.D and Ms.E came around her, the news
reporter cont "there was about 15 soldiers that was ambushed six were
killed and we're still waiting for the news for the other nine." mom began
softly saying "please dont say platoon 45..please dont say 45." than
the news reporter said "this just in, its stated that platoon 45 was the
ones that was ambrushed." mom grasp as she lost her balance. They both
caught her, she began crying "please god, dont let my baby be hurt
please." they held her in their arms. the staff stood there with their
heads down some began praying softly to themselves while others cried softly.
mami, stone, art, simone, the crew and the fam heard about what happened
overseas. they all began to get real worried.
Back overseas: i was going in and out, could hear raul say
"stay with me tru stay with me." i ended up closing my eyes, when i
had opened my eyes i woke up in a hospital. mom and them was at the house
waiting around to hear from me or someone from the army. Simone was with the
fam, she was rocking herself in the chair. all of the sudden miguel got up and
head to the door. Mom ask "where you going?" he said "to get
some answers." and closed the door he got in his car and drove on out. he
went on over to C.B.'s crib. he's the only one he knew that has connections to
the army. he talked to C.B for a long time he was able to get some info about
me. he drove on back to the house, came inside. Mami ask "you get
anything." he said "yea, we should be getting a call in a few."
about five minutes later miguel's cell went off. he ans "yo, hold on ima
put you on speaker." he press tha button and held his phone out. he said
"alright Dodz we're all here." Dodz said "i gotten in contact
with Tru's head serge he says she alive, but..." mom and them had a
worried face when he said that. he cont "during the ambrush tru got hit,
she didnt know she was hit til afterwards...." mami ask "is she
alright?" he sigh "she's okay." every all that they just sat
around feeling numb as ever. I laid there in the hospital bed scaring at the
ceiling. had a big bandaged wrapped around my lower upper body, and my right
forearm wrapped up. was sore all over my body, after i was release from the
hospital. I briefly talked to mom. than i had back to base, a week later they
said i can go home for a month to rest. I called miguel and Dodz i wanted to
surprise mom and them. they said you should go up to the school and surprise
mom as a holiday gift or something." i thought about and said i know just
what to do, ima call yall back in a few." i hung up with them and gave
mr.destino a call. i told him what i wanted to do and he smile that'll be perfect
for your mom and we can do it on thursday during the holiday assembly. he gave
me all the details and i told him when i was coming in and that i dont want no
one to know about it i mean no body. had also told him that i'll call him when
i get to the school and all. he said "alright i will have a young man to
direct you and let you know when to come in the gym." i said "okay,
thanks mr.d." he said "your welcome and im glad to know that you're
ok." we hung and i called miguel and dodz and told them whats up.
A week later i flew on back home, was happy even though i
didnt fully show it. got my bag was walking around when i saw miguel and dodger
waiting for me smiling. i smile as i ran up to them we hugged each other.
miguel smile "welcome home lil bug." i smile, i was still pretty
banged up still have that big bandage wrapped around me. my arm was feeling
better, have a little scar on the side of my left eye. I was wearing my army
combat uniform; we had all got in the truck and head on out to the school. we
was two minutes away when i had called mr.d, told him i was pulling up in the
parking lot. he was in the gym standing off to the side, he said "alright,
im sending kai out to the door." i said "alright." had hung up
parked in a spot, got out walked to the doors saw kai he let us in lead us to
the gym doors i hid to the side, as he open one of the doors and poked his head
in looked at mr.d he saw him had smile as kai nod his head. kai came inside the
gym stood in front of the door as he began speaking in the mic. he said
"ladies and gentlemen before we go, theres one last thing we need to
do," he turned his head and saw mom and cont "Ms.R can you please
come down?" mom and everyone was confused. she came up to him, he cont "we
wanted to give you something special for this holiday season...guys please help
me welcome Ms.R daughter home from overseas." everyone cheered as mom and
the teachers grasp, kai open the door and i walked in. had smiled while the
entire school stood up and cheered louder i began walking towards mom who began
crying she couldnt believe that i was home. she ran into my arms, i groan a bit
as i wrapped my arms around her and held her tight. she cried "you're
home, you're home." i said "i said i was coming back." i spun
her around, than lynn, aunt mel and them came up to me i hugged them too. after
all that we had drove to the high school, came inside had signed in. the sects
welcomed me back and i ask "do you know where i can find my brother
artwon?" she looked him up and said "he's in american gov with Woods."
i thought for a minute and said "room 215?" she smile "thats
correct." i smile "thanks." mom and them stayed downstairs in
the library while i went up the stairs, as i got to the top of the stairs i
scared right through the window to the room. saw Woods sitting at her desk she
grasp "oh my god." when she saw me standing there, i took a couple
steps the kids looked out the window. then i saw Art slowly stood up outta his
seat, he scared at me than he ran out the room and into my arms. we held each
other tight, as he cried "you're back." After all that mom signed Art
out of school early. we went on over to Simone's job, we came inside art pulled
out his cell while had asked if simone can come to the front. i hid around the
corner, she came out to the front. she saw mom and art, art began recording her
she ask "hey, whats wrong?" mom said "nothing actually we wanted
to see your face." she made a confused face, as she said "huh?"
mom smirk "just turn around." i quietly stood behind her Simone
turned around and grasp "oh my god Tru!" i smiled as she jumped into
my arms. i held her tight as i spun her around. she began crying i said "i
told you i was coming back." i sat her down we kissed, than we went to go
see mami. she was hella shocked to see me home. After all that we went home, I had
walked around the house, had ended up in mom’s room. Had laid down on the bed
it felt so good being home. Mom and my brothers had noticed I haven’t came back
downstairs, mom sent Miguel and Art up to find me they smirk when they saw me
asleep in mom’s room. They came in and laid on the bed. Couple minutes later
mom came upstairs she laughed when she saw all her babies laying in her bed.
She took a quick picture and laid down with us. She was happy that all of her children were home.
