(I'm Going Down) At The Race Track Ground

My rent is due, and my other bills are too.

Good thing, I don't have a family. It's just me, and my dog named Stanley.
I'm going down, at the race track ground.
I'm going down, at the race track ground.

I put a thou on number five, it's a long shot, But I've got to hit one, to stay alive.
It's like being hooked on some serious dope. You try to break the habit, But there's just no hope.

The race is about to start. And my heart is beating mighty hard. "there they go"

One and one sixteenth miles "to go" now I hope I picked the right young filly.
I'm jumping up and down in the stands, looking kind of silly.
I've gambled all my paycheck...Down to my last two dollar bills.... And I'm nervous with the chills.

But I've got to bet those two to win... "they they go" And the damn horse, finished at the end.

I'm going down, at the race track ground.
