Tempest

 It can't be the way you say, this you and I situation.
Preposterous to think we could ever,

No particular restriction, it just can't and won't.

Call for a cease fire of the flames between us.
Douse, water snuff out this dire need for us to touch.
Soak wash away it's everything leaving not a spark to smolder.
Bottle this lightning and silence the thunder claps of our thighs colliding.
It can't be the way you say, this you and I situation.
Our lips must never meet face to face tasting what should have been ages ago.
It can't. We won't.
Don't let it take over.
This feeling so long in the shadows.
Solidified into something we musnt touch, like fire.

Every Now and Then

 It always seems to be the things I say that get me into these situations.
The words a bit too sharp to ensure the safety of the recipients.
Perhaps I should leash my tongue like an angry dog.
The lashes only able to make blows but so low.

Time and time again after the sentences sentence me to several seconds of awkward silence,
following the realization that aforementioned sentiment isn't the same for the one you said it to.
Soul-baring statements sucked from your lips by that uncontrollable need to communicate.

Excuses for morals you obviously lack.

Play Fight

You only give me what's easy,
sometimes I like a little complication.
I'd like you to put me in a predicament every now and then.

Sometimes sipping something less than sweet is the only sure way to quench the thirst for the things you need to know.
So tell me something sour so we can patch it up after the fact.
Let's have a face-off.
Fabricate an altercation and alter my perception of the place you put me in.

You only give me what's easy,
and never ask for a thing.
Never trip, or bug out,
stay cool.
Could you get heated one time and call me the tomorrow after so we can make up?

I Woke Up Thinking

 I'd paint her face the truest hue of day dawning.
Lips the color of the last orange before the pastel light pours through the curtains.
A body beautiful,
shadows the shade of noon beneath her breasts.
A daydream believer with sunshine hair,
clouds in her eyes.
Day incarnate.
And I'd paint her this way so she'd know she's the light of my life.

Wardrobe Malfunction

 I'd wear your leather like a vest,

 When the sky is still blue,

but the sunshine's sufficiently faded,

and the moon is pearly white.

It's the perfect time of day for making wishes.
