The blacker the berry the sweeter the juice The blacker the berry the deeper the wounds The sweetest of fruits, they fiend for our juice So they squeeze and they squeeze till were wrinkled like prunes Freed from our roots, aint got a clue where we started All we know is the hands from which we were picked, and the bowl we've been washed in Sold to the public, displayed at the market Used and abused for someone else to profit Black berry....do you remember your bush? Before it was trimmed, do you remember your roots? Do you remember at all being planted in groups? Not bagged up, in competition for some hungry man to choose....us They don't care about your beauty..no They don't care about no unity...no They don't care about what we used to be..no they don't care about you and me They don't care about our roots all they know is we make one hell of a fruit So beautiful and smooth.. enough for some hungry man to choose....US Black berry...
