Good enough

just different

Maybe I'm not good enough

I'm just a short, darkskin okay looking chick

I don't have the thick hips, the full lips the whole package

I don't have the long lucious hair or the eyes that sparkle when you gaze

But yet I'm amazed

You come into my life and make me feel wanted

make me feel beautiful, make me feel needed

Then you look at her and I'm back to being defeated

She's won already

The lightskin , the slim waist the pretty face and the fat ass

I can't compete with that, I WON'T compete with that

You don't like me, love me or want me

I'm calling your bluff

I'm  just the funsize short black chick with the twists that ain't good enough

I like this poem. Yet it makes me feel sad. No one can determine if your good enough or pretty enough but yourself. Your worth isn't based on other peoples preception but your own. If you feel worth it then you are worth it, if you feel pretty then you are, and no one has the power to take that feeling thats within you away. Keep that pen movin MissEricaChanel

Wow, what a wonderfully honest piece. As a man, I confess I was never taught by my father how damaging our trifling with young ladies could be. Sadly it was a lesson I had to learn through experience. You're a beautiful young sista, but as the others have already suggested, YOU have to know and believe it to be true.
