The Ugly Truth

You see love, love blinds the truth

Because if I didn't love you

I would've saw the real you !

But see my heart was at build a man

And in my mind I built you 

See that's why it was so hard to understand 

How that wasn't the real you

I used your body as a vessel 

of the man I wanted you to be

My soul got so in tangled 

with the imaginary 

I got lost in the sauce

Did whatever it took, no matter the cost 

And somehow and some way 

I caught a glimpse

of a man I didn't recognize

Now I'm shocked, now I'm surprised

MAN WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?

So I walked away but you know I had to look back

And caught a reflection

of a man I once knew

I shook my head in disbelief 

and tried to rearrange my thoughts 

because this couldn't be

A Second Chance

If I could go back in history

what would I change?

Would I do somethings over?

Or will I leave it the same?

I must admit many of my decisions were wrong

Not too many were right

but int the end

It was all a process and lessons

learned in this thing we call life

so if I had the opportunity to turn things around

and do those things right for a chance

i would go back 

and screw the same things up

so my life woud stay the same 

because if I go back and change it for the good

who woud I be?

I made those mistakes, for I am human

imperfect as can be.

Am I less than a person?

Because of my skin.

Does the sins of his father make him less than a man?

Will I have to teach my sons to grow up

and hate the cops

with a subliminal fear that they can be shot?

There is no justice

so we're screaming, NO PEACE

Murder was the charge,

and these pigs getting away scott free

How can we have hope

When the system isn't on our side

They gave us a black President and took away his pride

they killed 3 of our sons

and left them dead in these streets

and all we get is a halfapology

what about his wife, what about their mothers...

silence is no more....

we're united as a people

for this civil journey that will come.

Everyone says there not addicted

but no one can stop

your our go to thing

when we can't handle the world

and we want everything to stop

you have catchy slogans

and were all saying the same thing

we get high to balance out our lows

but not really grasping the true meaning

once our high is blown

we're back to square one

calling up our regular

trying to roll another one

not understanding that  you

got mind control and we're your prisoner

were so easily sucked into your vibe

in your preimeter

so how can u you judge the crack fiend or the nearest hoe

when your just like them

the only thing is

we're strung out on dope
