the chosen one

came in to my life unexpected

but I've always known you to be a blessing

I got down every night finished with a prayer

always filled with love never anger

There will always be hard times

but I know he will be there to dry all my tears

faith is hard to come by

but I never wonder why

he takes the wheel

there is nothing left to fear

he chose me

but I wonder should I be

I was his other half

but instead of him I got to live this life

I have a purpose

bigger than anyone else knows

Even though we never got to meet in person

I promise to learn our life lesson

As long as I have you as my guardian angel

living from one day to the next...

the sound of a single footstep...

living this life trying to make the most of it...

but there is nothing but distractions...

the street lights...

even have a piece of me...

they decide when I go...

when I stay, or when to move with caution...

rule after rule...

not really sure of who I should be...

is there a right way and a wrong way...

no one knows, no one even recognizes my face...

I move along trying to catch their attention...

but I don't even recognize my own reflection...

I have become transparent...

it's like I'm gone, all empty...

Not sure what happened...

can hardly remember...

I see cuts and bruises...

and my body ...

Just Passed the Finish Line

when I look in his eye...

My body burns like fire...

he is the blue to my ocean...

he is the ripple that is never ending, continuous circles...

our skin touches...

he is the softest...

but the heat is rising...

and now we are sliding...

He warns me about commitment...

and about his prior engagements...

he scares easily...

but I know he really loves me...

he runs for a cause...

the number he wears serves a purpose...

one foot in front of the other...

he's gone fading in my rear view mirror...

he says he isn't lost...

he just knows what he can trust...

he needs to feel the track beneath his feet...

and at some point the finish line becomes a must...

the sound of the crowd...

dust flying behind him...

the sound of his heart beat throbbi...

Watching and Waiting

never in my life...

have I taken risks too afraid to take a chance...

you never know what's at the end of tunnel...

too afraid of the end to even begin to travel...

I don't want to lose my balance...

because I decided to live freely, careless...

what if I try that one thing...

that I always said I would never consider...

I live in a cage...

Always stuck in one place...

people don't get why I hold back...

always trying to avoid the "bad"...

I have been a good girl...

Always the perfect little angel...

Don't confuse my halo with sunlight...

It's always been there and fits just right...

Is this the right way to live...

wrapped up never to be found or looked at...

the perfect way to avoid any sort of attention...

Sitting up watching the cars pass through the window...
