Mundane blues, got'em deep
Got'em so bad I can't even sleep.
Just like coffee that keeps you awake
Those mundane blues bring nothin but heartache.
Lookin to the light for some inspiration
Tryin not to cry from desperation
Gotta figure out how to turn things around
Keepin my head to the sky with my feet on the ground.
Determined not to be dismayed
I humble myself to kneel and pray
Asking my Father to show me the way
Allowing Him to take these mundane blues away.
Fill my heart with joy, I asked
So I can have peace at last
Free me from the pain and hurt
So I can take my time and love me first.
Give me back the freedom to love others too
And forever wash away these mundane blues.
If for any reason this should happen again,
I ask for comfort in your name, Amen.
Today is a brighter day when we see the sun
Tomorrow waits faithfully when we speak to the Son.
So whenever you get those mundane blues
When you feel like there's nothing else you can do
Always remember that with every trial
The Lord will always bring you through with a smile.
Seek Ye first the kingdom of Heaven.
