It's hot, blazing in fact
As the temperature increases
The thunder rumbles
The lightening cracks.
Violently flashing
With each second that goes by
Raging winds bully their way
Through, knocking and throwing
Things around outside our doors.
Safe and secure are the timid ones
With blinds and curtains drawn
Waiting for all to pass
While the rest of us sit back
And watch nature's fury
Like a movie at a drive in theater.
Blinds and shades up
Windows open, curtains flowing
Towards us like ribbons
Curling in the air
And like the tea kettle
At it's boiling point, it whistles
Profusely until we take
It off the stove
So is nature's fury
Raging on until a voice
Says, Peace be still.
The rain cools her feverish head
The winds soothe her like
An airconditioner on a sweltering day.
The lightening is still seen
But no longer heard.
The thunder quiets its rumble.
Slowly the rain comes to an end
And safe temperatures are reached again
The earth is cleansed as nature's fury
Is finally at rest..... For now
Quenching the thirsts of the
Outside world bringing and
Sustaining life to and for all living things
Peace is restored once again.
