Searching outside to find…..what’s mine!
Losing my mind, by design, over time
Peek a Boo, she’s looking too!
Me thinks, she thinks I’m cute, cool
Calling for a booty, to fit my shoe
So I check with the man in the mirror
It couldn’t be clearer, looking outside my self
Love’s lost and found, better for worser, now,
Wealth has to be looks that afford haute couture
Tom Ford suits this Brooks Brother!
She is kin, also in carrying Michael Kors bags for naught
Teaching me to believe, what my eyes caught
Love at first sight of seeing her checkbook cover
Pulling her card like Discover, I rush to what’s next…..
Moving fast, like American Express, I transgress……
As I profess my will power, guided by trill
Gusts of euphoria, keeping my nose lofty, eyes overlooking
Although its sweet when sunny, cloudy it smells kinda funny
Seeming like it don’t mean a thing, if it ain’t got no bling…..
Looking down on dummies, without a care in the world
I search for my shell with a pearl, that will change my world
On to the next…..twerk or twirl, that will certainly unfurl
Never casual, so I push for a new invite to excitement
Willfully complying to enticement, 30 second fame advertisement
How shallow is this river, I set sail to travail til destinations unravel
Gavels smash on the concrete, behind left sore, so again I seek, more
Glitter and gold, trinkets of resold and refried lives of false glory
Living in a now, of not to proud, but too deaf to hear my own story
I insist its all in the daze of travel, as I await the next ferry’s round-trip
Slipped in the fall, forever 2b stalled, missing the rise, instead of this landing
Planning how high, is my highest possibility, in fast moving ends…….
Beginning to slow down, chasing the drift now, unable to catch breaths in hailing cabs…
As streetcars of desire, continuously pass me, with lit up available signs….for riding…
No choice but to walk out in this reign, running late, I appreciate simple blessings
Better yet still will be the day when I stop chasing after the thrill of vanity…….
PEACE
