Springtime Plant your garden,
Old flowers bear no scent
Fruits of labor
Freshness anew, time well spent
|
Old Glory I'm dead to you, dig a grave
Free of the land home of the slave
I'm dead too, states a soul
Thirteen stripes on the back of the sold
I'm dead, to A statement made
Speech ain't free if Cost is paid

Eleven Brothers Being held by the game, as our time too will pass bye...
We share the pain hidden inside, from tears you didn't cry...
Upon our shoulders, bear the weigh, no blame to be placed...
One on one with the mirror, reality, we can now face...
To love the game so hard, one day, we will get to tell her so...
Heaven has the name, one of the greatest we didn't get to know....
Accepting the change, but refusing, To let go of a dream...
Inside our heart the game is kept, Through death, eleven brothers built one team.

HardKnocks Holding on to the game
as time has passed bye...
The pain hidden inside
from the tears that didn't cry...
Upon these shoulders, over time,
the blame should be placed...
One on one with the mirror
reality can not face...
Believed in change, refusing...
To let go of a dream...
Depths of the heart the game is kept,
though it does not seem
Losing the game,a thought,
waiting on the future to reveal
Passed obstacles in the past,
a present presently pressing to live

DIRECTION Every poem tells a story, every story tells a tale; A tale of a life, a life of living hell.
Why am I to have a reason to live, If it’s my life that I must give.
I only have one so let me live it, If I must find my gift, the Lord giveth.
It is my road that’s dangerous and dark, As I travel I will follow my heart.
No one by my side, still I walk alone; for I know its path is headed home.
How could I forget from where I came, As if my present is distant from pain.
Can I not remember how I got here, to close my eyes and shed no tears.
I have listened yet choose not to follow, in others footsteps down a trail of sorrow.
I am destined for greatness this I know, my destination in sight but does not show.
Living to die in front of the world for all to see, past deceased to set my future free
But If I am to die for what I believe, I will take my directions and follow my lead

Three Stones Having hatred in my heart, faced with the dilemma to let it show
Still had love for her, what was there to gain by letting her know
Hurting inside now, because many expected it would be my fault
Times heartbroken, don’t amount to having my wounds filled with salt
Having loved and loss, she would have been better to not have loved at all
Claim happiness walking out on love, picked up my feet bracing for her downfall
Blame it on the beginning, because in the end it was not a matter of concern
Damages filed on her lover’s insurance, savior the memories from love burns
Rain down on my face, for in this moment there are no tears to shed
Emotions flood my heart, would rather drown than to have her love instead.
Can not explain all my feelings, cause my mind is in a mode of recovery
These are words from hindsight, my insight provided foresight for my discovery

Dear Dad Can I have a minute of your time, to reflex on our past,
I'm all grown now, so I bet you saying I grew up fast.
At a point in my life, I feel we don't talk like we should,
I'm not mad at you, I know you did the best you could.
As a child, I wanted to the love you hid in your heart,
But I honestly appreciate the fact, that we were never apart.
The questions I have you might care not to answer but I'll ask
Why was I not hidden from life, at least until the storm past?
How you say you miss me, when you never knew I was here?
Never saw my face, all the nights laid awake shedding tears.
You told me you loved me, but would not give me your name
Was it that you did not want me to grow up the same?
Didn't you know I wanted to be like you, no different?
Everyday I studied your word, to find out what you meant.
From birth, it was life lessons, were I had to teach myself&nbs... |
My P.O.V. Exercised my right, exhausted, still left with a void
Putting people in office, got me out the door unemployed
Passing bills for healthcare, now needing bills to care for my health
Many will join me, if they are blinded by wealth
No invitation, No party, but can we sit down for tea
The taste may not be to suite, but the conversation is free
Focus not on the now, place foresight on the by and by
It either happens or it doesn’t, nothing is done through try
Time and effort, is the cost paid to perform a civic duty
Land of the free, home of the brave has lost her beauty |
Now or Later THERE SHE IS STARING INTO THE MIRROR, THINKING OVER HER LIFE
QUESTIONING HER DECISION, WAS SHE TRULY READY TO BE A WIFE
SHE TELLS HERSELF YES, TO ACCEPT WHAT IS TO COME
BUT ALL SHE'S LEFT WITH IS NOTHING, TO TAKE NOTHING FROM
SO SHE TURNS OUT THE LIGHT, TO HIDE A FACE OF SHAME
HER CONSCIENCE IS STEADY ASSURING HER, SHE IS NOT TO BLAME
AS SHE WALKS OUT THE DOOR, EXPOSING HERSELF TO THE WORLD
THOUGHTS BEGIN TO SETTLE, SHE IS NO LONGER THAT LITTLE GIRL
THAT LITTLE GIRL WHO CARRIED A SMILE, WHICH NO ONE COULD HIDE
HAS NOW BECAME A WOMAN, STEPPING OUT FROM INSIDE
SHE HAS DECIDED TO MAKE A CHANGE, THOUGH CHANGE IS OFTEN HARD
WHILE GOING DOWN ON HER KNEES, SHE GAVE IT ALL TO THE LORD
NOW LOOKING IN THE MIRROR, THROUGH THE EYES OF THE CHILD WITHIN
SHE WITNESSES THE BEAUTY SHE HID, HERSELF SHE MUST BEFRIEND
ALL THE PAIN IS BEHIDE HER AND TO HERSELF SHE WILL CATER
SHE CHOSE TO DO IT NOW THIS TIME, RATHER THAN WAIT TIL LATER. |
