while the innocence of her laughter could block out the sounds of gun shots & police sirens signing through da hollows pitch of night 
Given the eyes of an angel that shall only make your heart wonder if she's the definition of love when you see her
For in your mind she the closes thought of perfection 
so why does such beauty cries herself to sleep? 
Fearing to look into the mirror as if it is the devil himself she see within herself
Scared to tell the world her dreams as if they would be our nightmares 
She lives but dies slowly stranded in her own thoughts running from a monster called "Self Conscious" 
If only I could give her my eyes shall then they could be her new mirror & love all her imperfections

My brownskin baby skin is pure as gold shining through the sun at nght

Their smile is unbreakable for my baby is strong soul of many Kings and Queens 

Born through the gun shots of the ghetto's and dreaming in every bullet my baby will reach limits beyond the heavens

My brownskin baby will laugh through their tears and pray through their sorrow for mama taught them

"Never be ashamed to cry for each time it rains God crying too"

Where their pockets will be full of happiness no money can afford and their pride will hold their backbones for no human being will ever break them down

My brownskin baby is beautiful for no mirror will show

My baby is a reflection of me..strong and powerful and needs to know thier skin is more than what a color shows

Memory vs Reality

When a rose refuses to grow & the sun fears to shine through each inch of darkness

there's something hovering over the horizon known as hope

As riots are more build to damage than to speak for injustice, retwisting equality throughout history that was never reached
