You'd never know from first glance, the demons they deal with. The pain and hurt they feel. You'll never hear their screams or cries for help.

They'll smile in your face and tell  you everything is alright. All while, hiding their own thoughts and feelings in the darkness of their hearts.

Like a child, too shy to speak up. They remain silent but, if you attempt to listen; you may just hear their whispers. Things like "help" and "I'm afraid" and from this comes a type of rage, like a hell on wheels. But, even their rage will remain quiet and still like calm waters under the night sky.

Who could they be in this day and age, you might ask. They're your neighbors, family and some are even our friends. Too in fear of those of us who may judge them so blindly. As, if we're incapable of doing any wrong. So bold and naïve some of us are. But, again who could they really be? Why don't you take a good look in the mirror because when it comes down to it, could just be YOU or ME.
