She says I left her
She feels as if I just got my things, forgot about her and neglected her
Moved to another city miles away when I should have stayed and kept her
And because of that she penned me this letter
"Jonathan, why did you leave me?
You said you would never do that but then you deceived me
You decided to move miles away and you barely come see
I never see you but I see the rest of your family and they see me
I remember when we used to go places to eat
Louisiana fried chicken on Atlantic And 52nd Street
Fabulous Burger on South and Orange, across from the store where we used to wait to payday to go get something to drink
Atlantic and 55th at Casa Sanchez cause they tacos wasn't just fire, them thangs was heat
And let's not forget I didn't trip when you went to school on the east
Cause it was only temporary, the understanding was there already and plus you was still in the beach
But I thought that was as far your heart could reach
Now you live in LA now and the times I see you is rare
And when you do come to the beach, you downtown cause your grandma lives there
But what about me?
I was where you found refuge and laid your head to sleep
So now that you out there I guess you found another place for your peace
I still love you. And I'll never stop. Until my last breath
Put nobody above you. You can't be top'd. Us until the death
I'm hear for you. Until the casket drop. Through all the stress
I got your back. Until you come back. Never settle for less
Jonathan I love you. Just write or call. Or sent a text
I'll be here forever. Whether rain or shine. You'll never be my next.
-Sincerely, North Long Beach, CA
