My face pressed hard
Against the glass of the windowpane
Tears are falling, my life will never to be the same
Looking at the world outside, cold and lonely
Wondering just why you left me behind
All I had thought, we’d gained
Although my heart is troubled
I still hear echoes of your love’s calling
The glow of the day’s last fading light
Reflecting upon your gentle loving face
Gathering the empty pieces of my wounded pride
What I surrendered for love’s sake
Continues to feed my aching mind,
The everyday things you’d done
To keep us whole
Although you were long suffering, inside
You’d sometimes explode
When no one else was working with you
Somehow you never lose control
You see things in ways I cannot explain
How the miracle of love remains
Even as my world seems lost, again
…going down in flames
Burning tears
Falling …like rain
