They remind us
of what seems most naturally obvious,
in retrospect…
in order, that we become better humans,
mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers…
we must give one another comfort and relief,
that wars do not promote peace
that our fates are interdependent with one another
that our quality of life improves
when we treat each other as sisters and brothers…
they lead from among us
never distinguishing them as being above the crowds…
Why does it seem so difficult for us
to come to see the true prophet in you and me…
to become enabled
by speaking against
what you see most everyday
as abuse of power, greed and hypocrisy…?
As our
disposable society
continues
to waste our resources
with increasing notoriety…
we are losing more than time…
Despite continuous warnings
that our living environment
is failing
we disregard the cost…
Why
does it seem to be,
like our sense of family,
prophets
are only truly appreciated
…after they are lost?
