As a child fed with broken promises

I wonder do you miss me?

Are you the reason for this poverty?

Manipulating our family

She left

Became a widow

Not cause u died

Though dead to her

Knocking her down the stairs

Now do you care?

Hearing the rumors spread

Knowing friends have fled

Rising me from

My sheltered bed

Walking

While I was walking with my head held high

Sweat melodies from churches and preachers talking

 As I walk by,

 Pausing grabbing a bite to eat

While I rest my feet

Aware my enemies want the rest of me

 I’m in control of the best of me.

Don't Let Me Drown

Somehow I forgot to ask for help

Being silent through all the pain I felt,

If only someone could give a hand;

 Could I have been so blinded?

Lost like Wildo,

Lost in the crowd of rejection,

And semi- saved for their entertainment.

Not allowing or welcoming

me to benefit from life.

In the sea left to drown.

Sink, and not float;

No boat

Left to see how spiteful people can really be

Look! I see life jackets

They don’t want me to see…

The door

Swimming in a pool of love, my joy comes from up above;

Words without faces, and no limit to graces.

I dreamed of these places watching my favorite

TV shows

With every burden a blessing flows,

Wonderful;

At first I didn’t want to go.

The door looks like a miracle,

Invisible,

Where I was so comfortable;

I didn’t even know

My friends would leave, and I want them to go

Yo! It’s so hard to find, and

I don’t know where we going to stand

I finally got a winning hand...

“You lock a man/woman up in a cage and she/he gonna think they half animal; you put an animal in a home environment it will act like part of the family, nothing consisting of locks and chains should involve rehabilitation it’s a contradiction ...  Anyone can fall but not everyone can get back up... Dear Mother

Dear Mother,

It’s been so long your unconditional love where I belong I didn’t listen I was wrong I followed my desires all my life you moved to the burbs’ hoping I get it right You taught me to rise when I fall to the ground mom your gone now physically I hope and pray not spiritually. You taught me all God wanted you to I dedicate this poem to you

Dear Mother

 provider, instructor, and friend why should I grieve like this is the end; you were 52, seem it happen sooner than it had to I know God did what he had to again I dedicate this poem to you I’m more than glad to you stayed around when times got tough you moved us when our father got rough

Dear Mother

 I know you rest in peace although I rather you live with me better condition no suffering no sickness I know you’re happy now I just want to witness the relief of your pain bringing a smile to your face again.

Prison Story

Physically in trapped like an animal fighting to stay alive

But I am only human, struggling to survive

I can’t stand you looking into my eyes

Deceiving my with lies

But, if you do stare

Feel my hunger and despair

I was 18 when my mom died and,

I still want to cry, Instead I bottle it inside

It still comes out along with my pride

Oh God I believe I know why,

At least I thought I did

To live is Christ to die is gain

Yea, Yea I get it

I’m living it, even in prison

My family said they love me

Never came to visit

So I’m as hard as bricks *** I got to be,

Discipline my soul, because my flesh is after me
