World in my hands (I quit)

CATEGORY

My arms out stretched
Reaching with my hands to catch
a planet falling to pieces
Pulling back in
staring at my palms beyond turbid clouds
of chaos revealing a world
that clearly no longer knows what peace is
Trying to grasp, trying to fathom
but I can't keep an understanding grip
with oceans of spilled blood and lands of senseless wars
covering my already oil drenched fingertips
My comprehension slips
as this mad world continues to hold up
bullets and empty shells to my tired lids
How do you except
when your mind's not equipped
to believe in something your heart
doesn't want and feels shouldn't exist
I could vote for my country
but around the globe does it make a real difference
or do you feel these questions hold ignorance
Will it save a child, save a village
Will it keep a bomb from hitting
a school building and taking those lives innocent
I've yet to see evidence
as if human life's irrelevant
Only cover up's by governments
and what's allowed on Fox news & CNN
My white flag's thrown in
I surrender my words
calling for cease-fire to lay upon this world
in peril, world in turmoil
We all have a voice inside
but no one seems to listen
when we speak of modern day genocide
but no ones seems to react
when we show them pics of a abandoned child’s starving eyes

WE CAN PROVIDE

A mad world deaf
before a man coming short of caring breaths
I want absolutely no part of this
In the last days
Turning my hands over
letting it all fall into ongoing streams endless
Maybe it'll drift on down towards someone
else to deal with
or just fade into space's deep dark abyss
I've given up, I quit
I can't see myself holding up a world that doesn't make sense
