Bond like Flesh
Your last gift was scissors to cut our bond
Betrayal hurt more than I’d like to admit
To countless calls you will never respond
Sorry, might I ask what made me unfit?
Was all of this a tiresome ordeal?
You’ve grown sick of me and refuse to stay?
Why don’t you tell me how you really feel?
Why was “I’m sorry” all you had to say?
I won’t be closer to another soul
A painful lesson I have learned from you
The heart I once had is no longer whole
You have made and destroyed my young world view
Our bond, like flesh, is easily broken
Scissors are left with words never spoken
