you think you're the only one
get off that pity pot
you've been stabbed, you've not been shot
you've been touched, you've not been raped
you've been lost, you've not been
snatched or kidnapped
you've lost a lot, you've not lost everything
you pay rent, you don't sleep on a park bench
you've gone to jail, you have not done prison time
you have a few dollars, you're not
walking around without a dime
you're still alive, you have not yet, died
get over it, it's the only way to get
to the other side
