* A Senryu is a Japenese form of short poetry similar to a haiku in terms of construction (5 syllables in the first line, 7 syllables in the second line, and 5 syllables in the third line). While haikus tend to be about nature and are usually serious, senryus are about human foibles and are usually cynical, sarcastic, and/or have dark humor.

True Story (freestyle attempt)Some stories are Just too true to be told. But I'll keep it 100, So lets let it, lets go... I been rich, I been po'. I been high, I been low. Done stole out the sto'. And caught charges for dope. I even snitched befo'. Got caught and let it roll. A friend was I no mo, But that chick just had to go. At one point I was a ho. Sexing dudes I didn't know. Never believed in Romeo. You fall in love I gotta go. Met up with john doe, Who took things real slow. He reciprocated my flow, And made my love explode. Now I smoke, til I choke, And write myself a note. "You're not that girl no mo'." Sit back and let it blow... ***Trying something new here, so please give me feedback, good and bad. I'm enjoying writing and releasing, sharing my thoughts and emotions with you all. Any suggestions on styles/form I can try out, let me know!***  |
