I am more than any statue was ever meant to be…
Respected by my children because I am their mother
And loved by all my real brothers…
Hold me down no matter what is the situation
And defended at all times at any confrontation…
Treated like a Queen like how I was originally treated
And in my presence showed respect when I was properly greeted…
Many times I have nourished the sons that had became great leaders
As they taught the misguided to become believers…
Understand behind every great man is a woman
And that source of strength is from a woman…
From pregnancy,
To their legacy
This is how I became to be…
I stand with pride because that is what I am
And of me this is all I would demand…
I am the earth that gave life to a history of my people that you called “Black”
A people that endured so much but still in our course presented such a strong impact…
Black is beautiful as they stated that I am
A woman of all civilizations as I am…
A woman that represents the power as I am
