She came to me in a dream
Just as she did the night before
She ran off with out a single word.
The wind blew slightly
Her hair brushed against the side of her face
Light, feathered in the strands strayed in the wind.
I intended to tell her then
But fear arose that she'd run off
Leaving me once again.
I thought of her wildly
Though unconscious.
Without regret I asked if she'd run away with me
I was struck with a sudden sense of deja vu
Muted memories of a different time, a different place
Awakened in the glimpse of her eyes.
My stomach paused in wait of reply
watching her hair flutter in the wind
She stood naked to every emotion a world away from reality
Just as the night before.
For a split moment
I felt the ground beneath me move
Punctuated by pebbles of tongue tied slurs.
An ocean of butterflies fluttered in my stomach
Her soft brown eyes staring back into mine
I prayed that she'd safely find her way out of my dreams
Soft steps in the hall of my heart.
Her reply was silent as I awoke and she remained in a dream
