Slept Like A Baby

The way she spoke sent a comfort I hadn't noticed. At that moment I slept better than I slept in a long while. I slept as a baby drinking a bottle. Her words were thick. Rich with nourishment. Lulled by the gentle rhythm of her pause. Choosing to walk instead of run to the lukewarm lullabies that insisted. She didn't seem to mind, Continuing to speak. I felt at ease in her arms. Heaven never seemed as close as it did that moment. An implied sense of harmony, hearing her speak. The Hymns sung from an angels lips. There, Beneath the blanket of her wings I laid. Taking a second to complete my thought. The fabric of breath that loomed the perfect blanket. Falling asleep listening to her talk
