I'm that quiet guy in class Whom moved from the back of the room to the front to clearly hear what you were saying. Causal day dreams sparked by lectures, the movement of chalk against the board. Ears read between the lines, interpreting with open eyes the vividness of no longer dull conversations. I don't know what happened with the previous teacher but I hope you permanently take their place. I turned to you for help with a problem or two, though it wasn't much you happily obliged. Doing way more than you had to, You grant the reassurance that you care for my well being, the education that persists with each word spoken from subtle lips, The passing of eyes, Algebraic equations of the heart Figuring how to get to X in the blink of an eye. Immature thoughts longing to find their way through puberty. Conversations that equate to how your day was, the stimulus of what crosses your mind when you close your eyes. A syllabus of knowing who, what, when, as well as why. You resemble the gorgeous statues seen in history class before the second bell to class rung. If only I had the artistic ability to display you in such a way Although brief, I dread the next few moments as class is about to end.
