I reflect back on days of yesteryear and sweet tomorrows will now never come, as I hold back tears of loss.
As heart pounds...grasping unto feelings of hurt.
Replaying visions of man called Father that carried me from birth. Father lifetime, molding me into manhood , as words carefully taken into ear.
Listening deeply year after year, as advice like road maps help me find my way. Illuminating wisdom carrying me to safe passage.
Too me...you were the man that gave me direction.
Too me...you were the man that provided me protection.
Too me...you were the man that showed me affection, as heart feel warmth, knowing that you were there.
My life, in past, turbulent as troubled seas. Lost not knowing which way to turn.
But Father in distance, stood as lighthouse, shining rays of encouragement to help find my way through.
Never had a clue how this affected me until now, as I look down, and see this man known as Father laid to rest.
Father...released from your body the sickness that held you at bay.
Father...released from your body the pain you endured day after day.
Father...released is your sweet soul, as it is now controlled by the Almighty Father that's called you home.
As you roam in the company of angels, may you have eternal peaceful rest.
I'll try to do my best, as you look down on son to fulfill the legacy you begun.
My love for you will always live on.
Love you
