Artist

Some people are afraid of unmarked territory.

 But like the lead to a pencil you've drawn me in. With every sketch of a line, and every curve...

And Every smudge and eraser mark You mysteriously relieved your intentions.

I've never been one to run from a difficult puzzle; So, only optimistically did I hope for the good as you completed your portrait.

Anxious to know; if that was I, that was drawn.... But I patiently waited because, I'd never interrupt your creative process.

Fighting the perceptions of anything else that this world wanted that portait to be;

You chose to create me.

You chose intricately pencil a beautiful outline of something new. You chose to intensely study me;

To become the perfect artist for an imperfect picture.

You didnt forget my flaws, but you included and embraced them.

You made a bold emphases around my eyes, because you seen through eve...

Insperation

I need some inspiration,

I'm tired of pulling from the fears, tears, and desperation.

I need some inspiration,

To speak words that will cure the nation

Not figuritively, but metaphorically. 

I need some inspiration,

To write words that will last a lifetime and be somebody's lifeline.

I need some inspiration,

For these inhales and experations,

Breathes that are getting harder, 

Like I'm underwater,

I need some insperation,

So that this pen to this paper wont end,

I need some insperation,

To be differrent, and not blend.

Deja Vu

I've written this a thousand times.

Rehearsed and reiterated my lines.

Memorized them, now they're engraved in my mind.

I've crumpled up this very paper and threw it at the wall....

Ten seconds later picked it up from the floor.

Now I see the beauty in it I didn't see before.

I've repented for these same sins and O' Lord here I am again.

These are the same tears, I wept last week.

I realize these are familiar words as I speak.

This is the same awkward pause, a similar why? and because; 

This is the very same glance I gave the walls.

This is the same scream I yelled as I entered the hall.

I've seen this before, I've seen this before.

One thing has changed ...I'm not the same at all.

Deja Vu

Passport

Like a passports thats been stamped,

I can prove to you I've been here before...

Like heels from my sweet 16, I can show you I've matured.

Once booed from your stage, now I'm finally adored.

Fell ill from to your disease, there's finally a cure.

Take... Take.. take.... Even come back for more.

A repetitive situation, you havent found purpose for...

Same problem, new tears.... the current crap you've been dealing with for years..

Only now there's an issue, where's the encouragement and cheers?

Still looking for approval, afraid of looking awkward or weird?

Praying you can hop into someone else's skin... But the same insecurities will still lye within.

You cant fix whats on the outside and not whats on the in.

A pointless try and effort, my passports stamped again.
