In the D, the only bank we know is "ruptcy",
Its been hell here for years,
The media's just now recognizing it publicly,
White flight took the jobs and tax revenue away,
They visit the hood to judge and complain,
Abandoned buildings make Iraq aftermath look tame,
Kilpatrick's indiscretion and Bing's inaction ain't to blame,
Got a Whole Foods a block away from Wayne State,
Black folks work there but can't afford its organic taste,
These roads eat tires like bad habits,
Several snowy winters and rock salt just ravaged,
Replaced four new tires and bent my chrome rims,
Political ass-fault and broken promises - can't believe we voted for them,
Now I'm part of the problem reside outside the city,
But home is where your news is - pity,
TV broadcasts crime, poverty and corruption,
They gotta use they platform to show the people the positive side of something,
Daytime commercials urge us to 800-sue them, get a payday loan, or don't even bother,
Those talk shows just suppose that that ni@@a ain't the father!
Our stress and cholesterol levels be getting too high,
Consuming media & getting fat off the devil's pie,
Pursuing pleasure while barely avoiding pain,
We suffer losses not being cautious wasting cash on PowerBall
again,
Overloaded with pointless information got us going insane,
Trying to teach my daughter about life and other thangs,
She 5, I'm 40 we both growing pains,
We all getting older each day old folks say,
So we fight love and pray toward the righteous way,
Problems keep getting more difficult like college math,
Solving for x while making more than one gaff,
Tested by god and scolded by the devil's wrath,
We're not well trained,
Committing sin's similar to cleaning carpet stains,
Like you accidently spilled kool aid or red wine,
On tan carpets in the rooms which you dine,
Vinegar works but leaves traces of your errors behind,
Stepping on our mistakes,
It soaks thru your socks wait,
It's a fragment of your soul - what is this strange place?
Is it a dream, death or a worse fate?
Reality can change by years via court dates,
The judge & jury holds the cards in spades - Dealing black kings, queens and Jacks multitudes of time,
Travel in your mind,
To the past on your grind,
Work smart not hard fool - whip your own behind!
