To love GOD knowing that GOD will provide security, peace, wealth, health & abundance in all areas is selfless or selfish?
For what purpose does GOD desire that we love and follow him?
Why else would GOD request we follow him, love him and make him first, if there is nothing to gain?
What is the true nature and purpose of gain in this circumstance?
Should we love GOD for the very being and principles HE abides by? Should that be our all consuming reason to follow, worship and praise GOD?
Is it a sin to claim loyalty, love, and devotion to a GOD that HE himself tells you that if you put him and his kingdom first, that everything will be given to you?
Wouldn’t you agree that HE himself is trying to either bribe or give you reason(s) as to why you should follow and love him?
If there were absolutely nothing to gain by worshipping GOD, by what means and measure would GOD expect us to follow, love, devote and praise HIM?
My thoughts and beliefs are that GOD wants us to feel as if all of our personal, spiritual and emotional and intended goals and ambitions could be fulfilled in richness by and through HIS goodness… thus, GOD wants us to be and remain motivated that if we follow HIM, that we will only gain all our hearts desire in due time.
Why would it be considered wrong to follow, “loveâ€, and devote yourselves to GOD for purposes of personal gain?
What makes it wrong?
He established that we must be perfect as HE Himself is perfect.
We all know and identify that we cannot so what does that mean?
Do we follow GOD because He is perfect and expect that He will soon make us perfect in HIM?
Do we follow Him because He promised us through His son Jesus, that he came to give life, and to give it more ABUNDANTLY?
I follow GOD because I acknowledge that I have limitations. I recognize my weaknesses and confess that I need His strength, His power, His working spirit inside of my physical shell made from the dust of the earth to continue to be animated and possibly have thoughts that can surpass everyday mundane thoughts.
I follow God; go to church and believe in Jesus as my personal Lord & Savior because I came to acknowledge that my highest level of intellect, is still the most minute & lowest thinking God could enable Himself to have… His thoughts are NOT my thoughts. His ways are NOT my ways… but because of the many promises given in scripture which pulled me to believe that if I devote myself to God, that my life will be okay. My life will be filled with blessings, longevity, health and wealth for self and all those to whom I hold dear.
So, once again. My question is reiterated. Is it wrong or should I say considered a SIN to follow, love and devote your life to GOD through Jesus, because you expect your life to be made better in any and every way possible? To expect a reaping for your sowing? My answer to self is No, it is not wrong... that’s exactly why God offers those promises.. for us to hold onto and use as motivation to remain faithful to Him. But are your thoughts? Do you think it’s right or wrong, and why?
