Survival 

I will not be crippled by pain, selfishness, pride, ignorance and hurt 

No longer will I listen to the negativity that gives birth to discomfort 

I'll not deny feelings of depression or actual periods  of being depressed 

Sometimes brought on by dwelling on a past

Cognizant I will realize I have no control over some things

As I  learn better ways of policing my feelings 

And if I'm led to a world of loneliness filled with a sense of paranoia 

I'll consider it to be an opportunity to dissect unwarranted drama

The message can be summed up in one word

Dying, Dying unto myself is what's most remembered 

Such a task that's very very difficult to execute 

Yet the message of the CROSS says that's what I must do

Testifying and confessing all without shame

Letting go of wickedness slothfulness with expectations of change 

So the meaning of the CROSS is for righteous gain

The epiphany is that the dead can not feel

So much of my iniquity there at the CROSS can be revealed

Concerning the labyrinth of my life

Before acting and making decisions I will think twice

I will not continue running blindly on the wayward paths

Only to be at a dead end reliving the regrets of the past

I resolve to stay present in the here and now

Acknowledging my Higher Power in all things some way/somehow

Being comfortable and accepting of the way things turn out

Trusting the plan that’s in motion which only God knows about

I resolve to accept at times that people are just too busy

To share a kind word or have patience to listen<...

Holiday Wishes

May this Holy season bring you joy

And life given to what you're praying for

While donning  each day with hope and love

Giving resonance of peace and happiness as you serve

Most importantly as the approaching of this year ending

And as future planning is beginning for sure include Jesus in it

My wish is that you'll have a wonderful Christmas 

And that the New Year be filled with Blessings and Purpose

I am the only one who knows my story...

Strength comes from my struggling 

With so many ups and downs, seems to be more downs then ups

Downs that lingered due to loss in my ability to trust

Looking back I did not see success, was unable to move forward, my mind cemented in a bowl of pity  filled with regrets

My comfort lingered in familiar places the doorways of pridefulness, selfishness, foolishness,self sabotage, hurt, fear and pride

Lacking trust in my ability to  design my own canvas 

Struggling with hauling the weight of my past

searching for the light

Searching for the Light

How much longer I'm I to wander in the dark

Knowing the way out I must trust and choose the words of God

As a child I learned the 23rd Psalms

And now as an adult I get the verses all wrong

He stated several times I'm never alone

Yet there are times I struggle to belong

For if indeed He is my shepherd

Then why does it seem I can't suit up in His Armour 

Why must it be so difficult seeing the light

Why so many do overs in trying to get it right

How much longer must I be in the dark<...

We must choose when to verbalize an opinion
Words can have a negative impact on ones abilities and image
So much talk about a young girl- a kids' hair
You'd think making history no one cared

Most appalling are the comments from the black community 
Filled with degradation inciting more division of unity
Comments less supportive which is what she didn't need
Opinions/thoughts that could potentially hinder her ability to further succeed

Now here again another media frenzy about her look and hair dress
Less talk about her continued efforts in being the best
Bypassing chanting of history being made

Yes I'm a competition that's not typically dominated by her race

But no, the focus negative plainly hateful
Is it our innate ability that we just can't  be civil

For those caught up in politics

It's pretty obvious that they don't get it

They've yet to recognize there's only one King of Kings

And soon again His presence will be seen

I pray for such a hostile world

Who has not taken time to comprehend His words

A world that's angry and not easy to forgive

Harden hearts that kills and steals

I pray for the peace of the promised land

Where the love of God can be seen in every man

A world that has no place for sin

A world where we can all be civil again

Inertia

Does it describe the place you're at
Stagnant, haven't reached your goals yet
Worked your plans but now at a standstill
Trying not to give up but losing your will

It's only temporary and you will find the strength
To get back on the path and go the length
Those self imposed limits will dissipate 
One by one with each step that you take

Think of inertia as a temporary stage
That allows time for change which leads to the next phase
The phase of planning of hope and of faith
Listen then act on His words as you wait

Keep in mind this place you're at 
All negative thoughts  and feelings you must reject
He is aware and wants you to be still
That's His way it's His will

Although you might be feeling inert
He's working to bring you to your place of comfort
