These Olympic Games

These Olympic Games,
Stoke my competitive flames,
The pool, the track, the court, the mat,
Measures of time, ability, and swag,
The best of the rest compete,
For gold, silver, bronze, or defeat,
Years, months, weeks, minutes, and seconds,
Our Olympians train hard to make history in the present,
And I watch y'all in awe,
I hope some win and pray that others fall,
Years ago, I ran track and won a race once,
I still remember the feeling, it was an insatiable rush.
