People of color
Don't speak for me
I'm taking back my
Individuality
Reality steadily
Divides us
Police brutality
Crisis
Nobody's righteous
The system's distorted
Resorting us to violence
Humanity in a state of disaster
Time to bring in the head masters
Ignorance won't take a back seat
As much as we'd love to think
We can retreat
There's no turning back
To what used to be
What is it that we seek?
Vengeance or peace?
We live under the Government
Nothing is free
I'm taking back my individuality
Don't label me a minority
Judge me by my character
My skin will never be a barrier
People of color
Don't speak for me
I'm taking back my
Individuality
It is justice I seek
In peace I believe
But will not be defined
By superficial things
As skin tone-
Call me color blind
I'll never ask for more than
What's mine
Constantly on that
Grind
Climbing the ladders just
Fine
An educated woman
Am I.
Making a difference
Treating all people with
Respect
Knowing that
Leadership and
Knowledge
Gets me
Ahead!
