Late in the nighttime’s heat at the street's corner a woman stands,
Watching for a fast signal of an even stranger man's hands.
She has a seductive body, face, personality, and voice,
To make a living, sex sells becomes her choice.
The man gives the signal, and she answers the call,
Walking with purpose at first, she says nothing at all.
It's not her first time doing this, but each time she's afraid,
She's looking for a way out, as easy money gets her paid.
“Yo mister if you got what I need, I have what you want!â€,
She says, as her hair, eyes, lips, chest, hips, and legs flaunt.
He promises, “I have everything you need, want, and more!â€,
With the hotel room paid for they go on, and enter the door.
She flirts, teases, intrigues him all the while, she strips,
Her clothes flow down like water on the ground, as drips.
Next, she undresses the man everything, but his John Doe's face.
In these walls she remembers her role, and knows only her place.
Giving his body a feeling good he's not getting at home,
In satin sheets there's lust for love, so he no longer feels alone.
He gets all he wants. She gets all she needs.
It's a part-time relationship of only give, and takes for heeds.
A job is done. She doesn't see his face, or ask his name.
In this losing game all the men are all one in the same.
As she dresses, and leaves, the man wonders about her story,
He doesn't know she is on the road for redemption and glory.
She makes it back to her pimp who is also, her abusive lover,
Giving him what he wants, though her heart belongs to another.
A little girl who is her daughter looks into her mother's eyes,
The truth is, so clear to see, it can never be hid by the hurt and lies.
A woman without a mother does not know what one can be,
But, a woman with a daughter is still searching to believe.
The mother’s choice is to do all she can, but the life for them she fears,
To her child she promises, “One day, you'll get out of here!â€
She tries to leave, but her pimp says, “You go, she must stay!â€,
Rubbing the child's face smiling, “ I can use our girl in many ways!â€
The mother has enough, as she shoots him, before he beats her to death,
When the police arrive it's too late, only the little girl is left.
