Minority Report

Performed this at a spoken word event. Had to share because it's our lives. Much more to follow!

I am a man of many faces. Not sure which one I'll be left with wearing  today. The one of pain or the one of rage. Not liking this minority report so I'll close the page. But still allow me to set the pace on what it says. Even though many of us are Fatherless, Motherless, or both! Even though our ancestors were wrongly enslaved, and today ones that believe they're above us still long to have back that process. Even though every door we open you try to close the next. Even though you attempt to degrade us you try to perfect and mimic everything we do and create in positivity. You spin it in negative light! Even though we have a great deal to be angry about. We are not the ones who need a lesson in humanity; it is you! Now look deep inside the you of who I'm referring to. I'm sick and tired of seeing the same old scene. Why do you continue to keep trying to destroy our visions and dreams?

In the American policing system I've totally lost my faith. You can't tell me this stream of unjustified homicide on our kind has nothing at all to do with race. You're inconsiderate, disrespectful, lack of human compassion, aggressive and angry. How in the hell did you achieve the job of serving the public that you have? Stop handing me life's short straws I don't choose to grab! Unfamiliar faces; what type world am I in? Choosing to live a life free of sin does not mean my struggles are over. This is just the beginning!  And every time you take one of our lives; we rise up winning! Check the blood stains of the tombstones through history. I don't need a PHD to see the outcome is 89.99999999% "Minority!" What will it take to put the mad dogs behind the badge back on a leash? Oooooooooh! That's right; your hands are tied racing for that electoral seat! I don't move to the tune of a political world; I have my own two feet! So don't worry about who I vote for! My gained right to vote or not vote is not even held to the same standards as yours! Shameful but true! Who's life is shadowing who's? Over 400 years of taking and you're still not through? What point are you trying to take us to? You couldn't buy back the pain from the blood stains we've removed. This will not be the last message you hear in truth. But we don't make it any better by instead of restoring we're destroying our roots! This may not be for the faint at heart. As my writing sometimes brings you to the painful part; of healing.

But we can no longer sit with our hands folded, as our brothers and sisters are slaughtered senselessly. And it should awaken you just as much as it does me. I would like to know; why is my skin color still treated as a life threatening disease? Why is more compassion shown to raper's, murderer's, and thieves? Why is it that we feel to get ahead quick, we have to make a fool of ourselves on national TV? Look up "pregnant man" on YouTube and see if you see what I see? We still pull the shuck and jive to appeal to the fake expressions, hidden agendas, and little white lies. What an appropriate term we tend to just slide by. Enough is enough! I'm dead tired, disgusted, fed up, drained, all stressed out. I don't write for me. I write to inspire and encourage the unjustly treated, in fear of opening their mouth. So here I am putting my best foot forward by pen and a pad with no concern wether you like me. Or not!

More incite into the words of the great Dr. Martin Luther King. I to have a dream. That one day we ignite the world; of what the word African American truly means!
