What happened to the Queens of yesteryear?

The ones that supported their King without hesitation?

The ones that stood by their King through thick and thin, regardless of if He was wrong or right?

That nurturing Queen; the ones that cooked and fed Her King, nurturing Him so He could maintain His strength to take care of His family as only a healthy man can

That respectful Queen; never uttering a foul tongue against Her King, be to it Him directly or among outsiders, only speaking with the highest praise of His work, life and commitment to family

Never garbed inappropriately, only respectfully as Her last name and her body is His and only for His eyes alone in the privacy of their home, respecting His name and Herself

The Leftovers

Not of the next day variety, essentially nourishing and providing

But rather of the lonely sort, the forgotten in everyday circles

The ones chosen last for the team and then only due to the need for even sides

The ones who missed The Last Dance, viewing others pictures, reliving it vicariously

Opportunities, promotions given to others less worthy

Holidays not celebrated, ideas not created or materialized

Dreams shattered and broken like clay pots, unrepairable

The ostracized, the disenfranchised, the lost and lonely

Viewed upon in the eyes of others as outcast, pariah

With sleepless nights and weary days burdened with fatigue, they trudge on, unnoticed by the masses

These are God’s special angels

May His good graces wash over those lost souls

May they one day find the peace that has eluded them thus far
