Too tired to think
Too tired to eat
Spending precious time
Carelessly
Our obsession with
Chasing the American dream
They teach us that wanting more
Is the noble thing
We ignore the fact that we're
In-between
Middle class sovereignty
Has dissipated
Abandoned by politicians
[Too busy playing golf]
To pay attention
Not to mention
All the oppression
That's the cause
Of the great depression
Too tired to even fall asleep
But completely restless
There's no retreat
Maybe we're bothered
By the same old rhythm of
Wake up, eat
Come home,
Then go to sleep
There's got to be more to life
Than this routine
People,
Live your life accordingly
What's freedom
When we aren't really living
