FLOTUS /First a Lady
A bit of a cliche, beside every great man there stands a great woman; behind every great woman there stands an even greater woman.
Eight years ago the world was introduced to a phenomenal lady, Michelle Robinson Obama.
An African American woman who moved into the White House.
Alone with a generation of strong women supported by POTUS who happens to be your spouse.
There's no doubt, you will be remembered.
Not only for the beauty you wore but also for the heart felt words you spoke.
You are the change of eight years ago;
Change: spoken so eloquently by the man we all know.
Needless to say an old history was conquered.
You became the vision of change delivering the message "yes we can."
They tried but could not penetrate your dignity nor levels of intellect layers.
So as FLOTUS/a lady first you demonstrated motivation inspired from the naysayers.
By which encouraging all to just simply do your best;
Including eating healthier, exercising and getting proper rest.
And though they continued to talk.
Your persona indicated they didn't have a clue to who and what Michelle Obama/FLOTUS is all about.
For eight years, eight years they tried with negative overtones,
Aimed at a family whose bond/support is obviously very strong.
You maintained authenticity by taking the higher road when "haters" spoke their worst.
Not only speaking but also acting out their xenophobias; frowning upon FLOTUS, all because you are the change seen in an African American first.
To some an inconceivable opportunity to witness such a phenomenal woman who epitomizes courage, strength and resilience.
With explicit initiatives that focused on teaching and learning;
Emphasizing the need that "we" all should aim higher.
You maintained a transparent agenda which was certainly a good fit.
Regardless of the pros and cons like a strong black woman/ first a lady, FLOTUS you handled it.
Multi-tasker. It was/is evidence that family always came first.
Allowing the world to see "mothering" while witnessing the growth of your girls and POTUS looked well too as he faced the world.
Needless to say you will be missed.
However your story, your journey is a history that the books will forever list.
I am so honored to have seen FIRST A LADY/FLOTUS anchored by God.
And a first African American Family that touched so many hearts.
Note: As a Veteran, I hear often "thank you for your service. Here is my way of saying thank you Michelle R Obama for the unknown sacrifices you've made for a world as FLOTUS.
