We'd fight for the controller to save the princess on Nintendo
Play fight and slap boxing was all we did living in the ghetto
Smacking three's in the hoops made from milk crates
Racing and lacing our 4 wheeler roller skates
Handball smacked against the concrete
Music blasting for boomboxes to the summer beat
Manhunt never got old we ran through our street
We were already inspiring to become a future athletes
But then one day came and we grew up to become adults
Now we were giving eachother advice waiting for results
Play time was now over since you became a man of uniform
Through the years I just watched how you transform
Wrote letters to you whenever you had a rainstorm
You replied to those letters to keep me informed
One day you were out and needed a favor
Ran to you like the old days didn't even sign a waiver
You thought at that moment I was your life saver
Everything changed as time went on
You became a run in my life like when it damages a nylon
That one time I asked you for something irrelevant
Never thought you would put me down so petulant
Didn't even imagine that you would act in that direction
It pushed me away from fading our cousin connection
All those memorable times as kids were lost with perfection
My cousin, my brother, you were my reflection
Now everytime I see you its like getting an infection
