Though they are silent

Their tear trails tell vile stories 

Of abusiveness 

Alliance...A Haiku

I'm your reflection

The shadow you can not shake

She, who shares your skin

Awaken Souls...

It was extremely attractive

blind faith at first sight 

the way his knowledge flirted 

with my mind, sharing images 

of kings and queens who once

ruled ancient fertile lands

I understood completely 

the language in his eyes that 

spoke of longing for me, to me

his stare absorbed the vision

of my melanin skin down to the 

lovely beauty he sought within me 

gave new meaning to 

loving the skin I'm in

With his touch came a current

through me akin to the river Nile

I felt the anointing of our ancestors

Our hearts' beat like African drums 

as our bodies sacredly bond to 

the sound of symbolic tribal songs

We became awaken souls

committed to each other,

sensuous syllable 

against her canvas soothed

Eagerness 

to experience the way 

wordplay on his lips

Uniquely 

he chanted 

over generous curves 

explored deep in valleys where 

her inspired warm stream creatively

engaged his

peaked mountains 

and laid claim to exotic lands 

fertile with her desire to be written

into the history of 

his love poems

Love stood before me,

Tall and confident. 

Untarnished, by superficial 

tendencies birth into society. 

Magnificent, in his

ability to remain true.

Love stood before me, 

Admiring flaws Of Unique 

beauty 

Without

a single word, or

Touch

Love stood before me.

Reflecting deep desire, 

that pooled in his eyes 

...and

I have never seen 

a more beautiful, 

reflection of me

Even though, 

she could see "for the meantime"

lurking in his eyes
