'Twas standing on the corner
selling drugs, when I found out
who my daddy was, he was one
of my best customers
I cried to my mother
told my sister who told my brother
looking for a place for my head to lay
mama she shrugged and pulled away
told me it was in my DNA
next time I see him, I had better
make him pay, I nodded to say Ok
but couldn't make the sale
doing wrong, where grace abounds
there is always hell somewhere
to be found, what do you say to
someone who was never around
then suddenly appear out of
thin air acting as if he cared
I gave him a chance to redeem
himself admitting I needed
help myself he got saved and
forgiven for all his sins
then he was gone again
taking off with all the dope
all he had was a bag of soap
'Twas standing on the corner
selling drugs when I found out
who my father was, he was one
of my best customers
