Changes in time
Creates change within us
Where we're forced to make
Major decisions that will affect us
And those around us.
Opposition from moochers
And the Stills family,
Still broke, still complaining and
Still ain't got no job are
Pushed away to fade to black
It's called tough love.
My editor will show you the way out.
A single light
Illuminates center stage
As the curtain is drawn.
My shadow and I take a bow.
Life begins to take shape
As I ride the wave
Of new challenges and set ways
Taking risks while experiencing bliss
Allows the heart and mind to reminisce.
Outside influences and temptations
Begin to weave their way through
Encircling and passing judgment
To change your point of view
Turning the tables against you
Flipping them upside down
Set it back up with their placings
Trying to make their way yours
Then feed you a forkful of bull
They themselves wouldn't eat.
Excuse you?!?!!?
My my my the plot thickens!
Feeling lucky?
Take a chance.
What's that, words got you choking?
Shall I do the Heimlich maneuver?
Well, let me consult my manual
Better yet my Executive Producer. (pointing upwards)
He has the answer to everything.
Now see, life doesn't have to be competitive
But when the negative becomes repetitive
You give the enemy a sedative
And tell 'em, "go take a time out.
We got this."
And just before the curtain closes
At the end of the final act
When you've lived and learned
And learned to live,
Remember this:
All throughout our lives we are
On stage and in the spot light
One should always act accordingly
Know your role.
Step outta character if you want to
And I guarantee you'll be recast
Before you can say break-fast.
We're all actors in life's play.
And if you don't follow the script,
When the credits roll,
You won't make the cut.
