For every beautiful woman that you see somewhere, somewhere there's a man who's tired of looking at her.

Social Media has given everyone a voice,
to let folks in their lives which then gives everyone the choice,
on what their friends and family see on timelines scrolling down,
but in between the statuses some lying's going down.

The one chick in the pictures at the club with all the drinks,
conveys the "life of party" atmosphere so all us think,
but once the camera flashes die she has to bat an eye,
she's lonely after last call but you know her status tries,

to make you think her life is like it's always free at best,
'cause all the men are hawkin' her and all her BFFs,
she's got a b-ball team at home forever stayin' cute,
their uniforms don't fit yet we're supposed to play the fool.

My fellas out here stuntin' hard and feel that nothin's wrong,
with bein' damn near fifty posed with women up in bars,
attention-seeker bargains but it's more a seller's price,
it's sad the way some folks out here will whore themselves for likes.

The world don't have to know your business; positive or not,
or feel the heat of how your life is hotter when it's not,
if you should lose your balance who'd be there to break the fall?
The same ones down to throw the book up in your face and all.

The online personality is nowadays the norm,
away from phones and keyboards though the cool ones play it warm,
we're lost inside a Matrix where the truth is status-kind,
but don't look now Pinocchios; in truth, our habits lie.

social seer says:

At times a bit murky, and gathers itself in a sluggish pontification that doesn't carry the explosive firecracker. The subject matter though is laudable.
