Ars Haiku It seems that we are
at an impasse, a chasm

What You Left Behind Egos on overload
bullets on the sidewalk
Stereotypes that crawl like spiders on your skin
Haters, baiters, see you laters
they want you to fail
You can't fsil, too much at stake
Walk quickly away, your future calls
Don't look back

When You Turn Away The wind is on your back, asphalt in your view, feet moving, go just go, they can't catch you if you're running, they can't stop you if you're running, when you turn away from the cray cray, they can't stop you, so keep running, run towards the sun, run towards the horizon, run towards the edge of the world and keep going.

Stolen Light This is a black hole
this is a black hole
There is no light
there is no light
Empty shell, compressed
compressed, empty shell
there is no light, no light
No light, there is no light
We don't even notice
we don't even notice

Eclipse The sun sits in darkness
a blinding light that burns the blackness
a struggle to be free
freedom for the light
is that what our lives are like?
Blackness struggling against lightness
the light so bright it cannot see itself
or the destruction it has done, is doing
The sun sits in darkness, no longer
fighting - merging with the blackness
becoming something different than before,
becoming something stronger than before
there is unity in an eclipse

Shocker Age shows survival
beauty is finite
Desire limitless
Law needs enforcement
Bruise fades
Window is an escape
Car cruises
Fight isn't over
Over when it's over

Entrance Music Blaring in my ears
the sounds of excitement
hands clapping
people shouting
streamers floating
in the electric air
my body rocks
vibrating to the sounds
I am in my zone
A ruler on their throne
My kingdom is the stage
While I perform and keep
the audience in a rage.

Rack it Up The pool hall is silent. The bartender wipes imaginary dust from
the counter, counting the minutes on the clock until closing time,
it is almost midnight, one hour to go, the few reminaing patrons
nurse their drinks as if they were their last. The waitress gives them
a side eye, knowing there won't be any tips from these customers.
The clock chimes midnight. Someone walks in. No one looks at the
stranger in the dark trenchcoat. He has a wide brim hat that covers
half of his face. His chin, a garden of stubble, is all that can be seen.
The waitress looks at him warily. A robber, perhaps? Please not tonight. She just wants to go up and soak her aching feet and count the loose change she earned tonight.
The man says nothing and seems to float towards the bar. The bartender gives him the once over, wondering if he should grab his bat from beneath the counter. The man sits down, f... |
Huntress Ride into twilight
there is an inventory of stars
saving the sky from total darkness
the moon is covered in shadows
its light blinded
the forest is dense, thick with life
as you ride down the path and hear
crickets chirp greetings and birds
respond in protest, it is time to sleep
but you must ride on.

Invasion Arrival,imminent
destruction, precedent
savagery, mission
slay all those who resist
all those who fight back,
life, precious
blood, bloodied
slay happiness
future - uncertain
