Though I spoke the incantation -- perfectly, it wasn't dependable -- at all.

I did a watercolor of the spirit of love,
sadly -- it remains unnoticed upon my wall.

I danced within a fairy ring while a blue moon, shined.

I wished, I conjured, I chanted, I sang.
I tolled the bells of the spontaneous.

I ate the substance that survived.

I called to the ghost of our temptation.
I begged him to again intertwine you and I.
He gave the same answer as the cups -- the cards.
All has witnessed now- love has died.

a love almost forgotten, waiting alone, silently to decay.
two hearts, broken and frozen, lying in subtle shades of gray.

a break-up so turbulent, it is racing among the dead.
a truth so dark now, due to the sinful words we said.

a chance hanging on to, a chain wrapped moon.
one so damn lonely, and overflowing with gloom.

a hurt that bemoans, that quivers, that screams.
a friendship that has parted, from all of its dreams.

a feeling with no room, left to turn in.
i hear it call to me.
i am to weak.
i simply cannot answer - again.
