I love this man
He loves me too
But we can’t be together
Us two
He’s sweet, kind, and oh so strong
But the love we share is oh so wrong
A primitive need to share one another
Responsibilities keep us from being together
If only he didn’t have kids and a wife
Then we wouldn’t have to go through this strife
I wish I would have met him first
Then he could assuage this terrible thirst
I pray to God that love wins out
Then we could be together without a doubt
Until such time, if at all
I’m left with fantasy to fall
For now all we can be is friends
Truth be told, that’s what it will be in the end
Just friends and never a lover
It’s good enough to make our hearts hover
Such understanding and intimacies
Is hard to find without intricacies
Will he ever be happy I wonder
Will I ever find another
What will happen to us two
We will live on as best friends do
