Sitting at a red light
Turn signal blinking
Radio off, waiting, thinking
Heading toward a new destination
100 miles by way of navigation
As my wipers push the rain away
I can't wait until next Saturday
Watching other vehicles driving by
On the corner there's a homeless guy
If I had a dollar he could have it
But I'm third in line and don't want to hold up traffic
Plus if I roll down my window I'll let the rain in
I don't want to soak my favorite suit again
The arrow's green but from the two cars ahead - nothing
At a stand still, the driver must be texting or something
So I honked my horn twice
Eyes thru the rear view hit me cold as ice
The cars slowly started to roll
As a middle finger waved hello
The light turned yellow
As the second car went past
At the light red again, I heard a laugh
From the man with the sign
Who asked if I could spare a dime
As the rain soaked my suit
I gave him a dollar and said this is all I can do...
